This Theatre Life was created by a woman who has been directing, costuming, stage managing, acting and teaching for almost 40 years. Throughout her career in theatre she's been creating her own paperwork, by hand, for each and every production. Several years ago, she got tired of starting from scratch at the beginning of a show. She began creating and saving templates for all the forms she used in her craft. Over the years, her collection grew, and she continued to add to and refine her compilation of paperwork.

In her work as a youth and educational theatre director, she realized that many scripts did not accommodate as many roles as she needed to cast 100%. As this was of the utmost importance to her as a director, she knew she needed to create roles for everyone. She looked to classic novels as inspiration and adapted them into stage plays with as many non-gender specific roles as possible. She also made sure that there were enough feminine presenting roles in her scripts. As many theatre educators know, there is normally a discrepancy in the number of feminine presenting individuals auditioning for our shows as male presenting.
